I first came to Unity when my neighbor Mozella invited me and my family to Christmas Eve service. I attended the next year and made a commitment to make this church my home. I was raised Baptist and attending Unity I finally felt like I had found a place that was warm and welcoming without judgment. I also just fell in love with Rev. Barbara Williams.
The part of the service that introduced me to meditation was so spiritual and I looked forward to that each week. I have yet to master the art of deep meditation but I work at it every day. Prayer was also something I found at Unity that was approached so differently from how I was taught growing up. I finally felt like YES this is how it should be! Prayer is a big part of who I am today. I love the Unity Prayer for Protection.
The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches over us;
Wherever we are, God is!
Those words ever so simple are so comforting. Over the past few years, my life has taken many paths, some not so great,but through it all I know I could not have kept my head held high and a positive outlook if not for my Unity family.
I have always had a camera in my hand as long as I can remember and I so enjoy being able to capture special moments and then share them. As many already know this is my passion. I want the world to see many, many years from now all the wonderful people and the great times we shared here at Unity. When all is said and done a photo can bring joy and comfort and that warms my heart.
I plan to be here at Unity of a long time and look forward to sharing all my moments in my life with you my Unity family.
