Our Music

OUR MUSIC TEAM

Nancy Lynn Christ, Music Director
I started my music career from the time I popped out of my mom’s womb into the world singing. The doctor, nurse and mom thought I was crying, but I knew better!

Then came piano lessons, school band and chorus. I was rather fortunate to have had such a great public school music curriculum and am so grateful to all of my past teachers.

I moved on with a scholarship to Hartt College of Music.  The instrument I was most proficient in was baritone horn (euphonium) and I had every intention of joining an orchestra.  My heart was broken when after entering Hartt, I was told my instrument was not an orchestral instrument.  I then switched to musical composition and at about the same time, my inner voice began prodding me to find out who I was.  Ever have that happen?  So, after a couple of years  I decided that finding out who I was, was more important and took a little detour.  I became a piano tuner/technician in the mornings, and a piano, guitar, trumpet, euphonium, tuba and beginner voice teacher in the afternoons.

Over the last 25 years, I’ve composed and transcribed music, appeared on TV, radio, at festivals, and sang with Art Garfunkel. I've directed choirs and been on several Unity music teams, gave sound healing workshops, and now, finally, am music director at Unity of Port Richey.  I am happy to be here and encourage everyone to sing!
