Sunday Celebration Service "Declaration of Independence" with guest speaker Rev. Bob Fortner and Christine Mariani Music

Join us on Sunday, July 5th at 10:30 am for our celebration service with guest speaker Rev. Bob Fortner. Rev. Bob will bring an inspiring message "Declaration of Independence." Christine Mariani will be accompanying this service with her inspired musical selections.

While we celebrate the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, it is important to remember that the colonists were not yet fully independent at that moment. Similarly, we must take further steps after declaring ourselves free—working to liberate ourselves from poverty, disease, and the many other challenges we face. We will explore this Sunday.

About Rev. Bob Fortner:
Rev. Bob Fortner is Minister Emeritus at Unity Church of Palm Harbor where he served for 25 years before retiring in 2022. He served in various leadership positions at Unity Worldwide Ministries for over 40 years.
He now serves as past President of the Palm Harbor Historical Society, which manages the Palm Harbor Historical Museum housed at the Hartley House at 2043 Curlew Rd. in Palm Harbor.
Bob also serves as past President of the Friends of the Island Parks, a Citizen Support Organization, that protects, preserves and promotes Caladesi and Honeymoon Island State Parks.
Terry Fortner, Bob’s wife of 45 years is Myrtle Betz’s granddaughter. Myrtle was born and raised on Caladesi (then called Hog) Island and authored the book, Yesteryear I Lived in Paradise. Rev. Bob claims his wife got him involved with the Friends and the Museum to keep him out of mischief after he retired. Bob’s motto is, “in order to preserve the past and protect the future, those who care must be present.”
